The foundation stone was laid down by His Holiness Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhangsa Deva on. The college owes it’s origin to princely donation from Late Sajanikanta Giri, along with several other contributors. At that time this institution initiates it’s teaching and learning in a rice-mill at the nearby area of the locality.
At the inception, only two Honours Subjects – Commerce and Sanskrit were taught along with their general courses.
This institution has started it’s glorious journey as a State Aided College on and from 1970.
